Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:

• Account details — your name, work email address, organisation name, organisation type and password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
• Profile and listing content — organisation descriptions, focus areas, locations, website and social links, logos, cover photos, project listings and listing photos you choose to publish.
• Messages — messages you send to other members through the inbox.
• Support requests — information and photos you submit through the Help form, along with a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address used to limit abuse.
• Verification information — if you request due-diligence verification, the registration numbers, contact details and documents you provide.
• Technical information — information necessary to operate the platform, such as sign-in session data and basic request information processed by our hosting provider.

Information is used to maintain user accounts, facilitate connections between NGOs, corporate organisations and impact partners, provide platform functionality, respond to support requests, carry out verification you request, improve services, communicate important account updates (such as email confirmation and password reset messages), and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Information may be shared with other users where it is intentionally published as part of a profile or project listing. Organisation profiles and the member directory are visible to signed-in members; inbox messages are visible only to the participants of that conversation and to platform administrators where needed to operate or protect the platform.

We may also share information with service providers where necessary to operate the platform — for example, cloud hosting, database and authentication services, email delivery services, and Google (for Google sign-in and advertising, see section 7) — or where required by law. We do not disclose private account information to unrelated third parties for their independent marketing without appropriate authorisation.

We aim to implement appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect user information against unauthorised access, misuse and disclosure, such as encrypted connections and access controls that limit who can view private information. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to withdraw consent where applicable, or to raise a grievance, subject to legal and operational requirements. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate platform operations and applicable legal obligations.

Kartavya Connect uses browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to support website functionality and performance.

The website also loads Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which may include ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
